NFL Draft Speculations Heat Up

Next week’s NFL Draft might see some interesting shifts at the top. According to recent reports from ESPN, there’s talk that the Cardinals and Titans, who hold the third and fourth picks, might consider trading down.

The decision for Arizona and Tennessee could hinge on what the Jets do with their second pick. There’s a strong expectation that New York will choose between edge rushers David Bailey from Texas Tech or Arvell Reese from Ohio State.

Meanwhile, the Raiders appear set to draft Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the first overall selection. That’s pretty much confirmed at this point.

There’s a bit of a buzz around potential targets for teams looking to move up in the draft, with names like Bailey, Reese, Jeremiah Love from Notre Dame, Miami’s Francis Mauigore, and Sonny Stiles from Ohio State popping up as candidates at picks three and four. Interestingly, the Cardinals have also shown interest in Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson, who might be a late first or second-round choice.

The Titans, led by head coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, could be focusing on accumulating more picks rather than sticking with the fourth pick—especially looking at last year’s number one overall pick, Cam Ward, who now plays quarterback.

Fowler suggests that the Cowboys could also be involved in potential moves, even though they’re not very active at the moment. They hold the 12th and 20th overall picks but might be focusing on defense instead.

Interestingly, Fowler noted that while the Cowboys are considering a move, they’re also quite satisfied with where they are.

The first round of the draft is scheduled for Thursday in Pittsburgh, with the following rounds taking place on Friday and Saturday.
