Police said the boy was captured on security video firing a gun inside a sporting goods store in Times Square after being stopped by a security guard with stolen items.

The bullet missed the security guard, but struck the Brazilian tourist in the leg as the 15-year-old woman and one of the other shoplifters ran from the scene.
The immigrant teenager fired at least two shots at responding officers, and a second officer apprehended the other shoplifter, who fled, the NYPD said.
The NYPD called the boy “armed and dangerous” and immediately began a search.
