Peter Schweitzer says Joe Biden's full pardon for his son Hunter was actually a proxy pardon for the entire Biden family, thwarting an ongoing investigation into a peddling scheme affecting the Biden family. .
In the latest episode of the Drill Down podcast, Schweitzer pointed out that the scheme involved not only Hunter, but also Joe himself, his brothers Frank and James, and other members of the Biden family. The scope of the pardon is “unprecedented in history,” Schweitzer said, and “an astonishing admission of just how corrupt this family is.”
Every president has used, and sometimes abused, the constitutional pardon power. In recent years, presidents have granted pardons to former political figures and wealthy supporters who committed certain crimes. However, the only “full and complete pardon” to date was given by President Gerald Ford to disgraced former President Richard Nixon.
Joining Nixon in that elite club is Hunter Biden, who was pardoned for crimes committed between January 1, 2014 and December 1, 2024. As Schweitzer states on his podcast, it wasn't just the abuse of amnesty power, but the actions of a father who was not great.
In addition to effectively ending the investigation into corruption allegations against the Biden family; drill down They point to six other factors that should be emphasized about Joe Biden's unprecedented pardon for his son.
1. Vast scope. Not only was this against his family, but it effectively gave Hunter Biden immunity from whatever he did. I might have done it Indicted or not, guilty or indicted, for the past 10 years. The president confirmed that his son will not be charged based on the results of an ongoing investigation into his influence.
2. This is a proxy pardon. That would extend to Joe Biden and other members of the Biden family. By pardoning Hunter, Biden paralyzed an ongoing investigation into influence trafficking that also involved Joe and his brothers, Frank and James, who traded in a similar manner. Schweitzer called it “an astonishing admission of just how corrupt this family is.”
3. Timing matters.. Why specifically does it start on January 1, 2014 and end on December 1, 2024? Because right after the start date is when funds from China first start flowing in, Schweitzer says. He explains. Mr. Hunter flew to Beijing on Air Force 2 in mid-December 2013 and signed investment deals with Chinese government and intelligence officials that later totaled about $1.5 billion. In April 2014, with the Burisma deal, Hunter Biden was appointed to the board of a Ukrainian oil and gas company despite having no knowledge or experience in the energy business. The spring of 2014 was also the time Hunter Biden signed a deal worth $3.5 million with Russian billionaire Elena Baturina. She had hoped to be removed from the list of Russian oligarchs sanctioned by the United States following President Vladimir Putin's first invasion of Crimea. (She was never on the list.)
What will be the end date? This may have something to do with Hunter's later career as an untrained artist who sold works to art enthusiasts for as much as $500,000 each. The buyers have not been officially identified, but media reports suggest that some of the buyers were ambassadors from her father's government. Some of the art appears to have been sold to people in China. However, the amnesty means that any of these transactions will not be subject to investigation or possible prosecution. Why is it necessary to conduct interviews until the end of November? Joe Biden resigned from the campaign in July. Is there any chance that money might come to him after he drops out — perhaps negotiated by Hunter, his chief advisor — that might be worth investigating?
4. Second bite of Hunter's immunity deal. A prosecutor named David Weiss offered Hunter Biden a plea deal, with Biden pleading guilty to the gun charges and federal authorities dropping the tax charges. The agreement was submitted to a federal judge, who rejected it and the agreement fell apart. Hunter Biden's lawyers believed this would give him complete immunity. Any Future Prosecution. “This shows how shameless the Bidens are,” Schweitzer said. “Their goal was to exonerate all of Hunter. If they get a pardon, that's exactly what they're getting.”
5. Trump's election triggered the pardon. Had Kamala Harris won the election, her administration would have ensured that the Justice Department's ongoing investigation into widespread influence operations by members of the Biden family was terminated. However, with the election of President Trump, the risk of Ukraine submitting evidence to the Trump administration was too great. give something in return by then-Vice President Joe Biden. Recall that in early 2017, when Biden was vice president (before he left office), he threatened to withhold aid money unless the Ukrainian government fired a prosecutor named Viktor Shokin who was investigating Burisma.
6. Criminal Justice System do have double standardsbut it's not even based on race or wealth. It is based on political connections and family ties. “I'm a father too,” Schweitzer says. “I don't think it's acceptable that Joe Biden allowed this to happen. Hunter Biden did it because his father allowed him to do it. That's not a very good father. No.”
7. Mainstream media is dead.. The airwaves and video streams are filled with embarrassing examples of supposedly objective reporters and commentators praising Biden for refusing to pardon his son in the past. Almost everything they told us about Joe Biden has been shown to be false. “The curiosity they once had is completely gone,” Schweitzer said. “They didn't publish an article that looked into the details of this case. They're still carrying water for the Biden family. They said Trump can't be trusted with justice. Look what Biden did!”
