The ‘Tush Push’ will survive as NFL doesn’t want to ban play

“Tush Push” is here to stay.

Despite speculation that the quarterback sneak variation popularized by the Eagles would be banned from frequent use, NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent said Thursday that the league It has been confirmed that no such measures will be taken.

Vincent: “Don’t punish teams that are doing well strategically.” said on PFT Live.

According to Vincent, the sentiment around the NFL is to simply tip the cap for the Eagles’ execution.

“Their success rate is amazing,” Vincent said.

Vincent said talk of “push-push” did not come up when the league competition committee met this week at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, but it will be discussed at next month’s league meeting in Orlando. It is expected to become a hot topic, so anyone interested can express their opinion about the play.

The Athletic reported in December that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell wants to ban “push-push” games, where two players stealthily gain a quarterback (Jalen Hurts in the Eagles’ case) across the line. It was reported.

Eagles center Jason Kelce responded to the report a few days later, saying he was tired of the controversy surrounding the play, also known as the Brotherly Shove.

“Listen, ban it. At this point, I don’t care. I’m done debating it,” Kelce said on the “New Heights” podcast with his brother Travis at the time.

“…We were really good at executing quarterback sneaks.”[s] before pushing. I don’t think it’s a necessary part. It certainly helps, there’s no question about it.

“We don’t have the energy to worry about getting banned or not. We’re good at it and we’re effective at it, so we’re going to do it now and whatever they do next season, we’re going to do it at a high level. Do something and find a way to make it effective.”
