Co-host Whoopi Goldberg spat after saying former President Trump’s name during Tuesday’s episode of “The View.”
The panel discussed the CNN presidential debate between President Trump and President Biden, and despite ongoing concerns about Biden’s mental health, the women insisted he is prepared for the debate.
Goldberg sought to defend Biden without directly addressing Trump, but was forced to do so while discussing his debate opponent.

“I think we’d be remiss in not saying, Joe Biden knows how to do this. He’s so good at this, and, you know, you can’t really argue with him. Because when I say he, I mean…” Goldberg trailed off.
“He rambles. Trump,” co-host Joy Behar interjected.
“Trump,” Goldberg said at the same time, as some in the audience began laughing. “He just… well,” she said, making a spitting gesture to the side.
The audience cheered at the gesture, co-host Alyssa Farrah Griffin laughed, and Sunny Hostin leaned back in her chair with delight.
“Did you say his name?” Hostin asked.
“I said his name. It was a trick. And I was forced to do it,” Goldberg replied.
She continued, “But my point is, Biden knows what not to do. You can’t argue with the guy.” [Trump] He just keeps spinning. All he can really do is talk about what he’s doing and how he’s doing it.”

Goldberg has refused to use Trump’s name directly, often referring to him as “that guy” in his frequent attacks on the former president.
Goldberg called out Trump in May for sharing a meme that mocked his previous claim that he would move to Canada if he won the 2016 presidential election.
“You know I’m a little shaken up. That guy had something to say to me,” Goldberg said, declining to be named.
She continued, “Look, I’m not going anywhere, okay? And it’s not for the reasons you think, you little snowflake.”

Goldberg criticized Trump for saying “nobody” wanted her and stressed that her contract as co-host of “The View” would continue, but did not say for how long.
“I know where I am because I’ve signed a contract, so I’m going to be where I’m needed for the next few years,” she retorts, before cutting to commercial.
