The View faces criticism for being a biased echo chamber following recent guest study results.

ABC’s “The View” has been criticized recently, as a study revealed that in 2025, there were 102 guests identified as left-leaning, with zero conservatives appearing on the show. Fox News contributor Guy Benson remarked on Fox & Friends that the current state of the show feels like an “insane asylum.” This analysis comes from the Media Research Center, which reviewed episodes up to January 6, noting that the show struggled to book conservative guests since its winter break.

Benson expressed some surprise at the number, suggesting it might even be lower than expected. He pointed out that for years, the left has focused on the idea of fairness in media, implying that if they truly achieved that goal, “The View” would cease to exist. The guest list consisted not only of Democratic lawmakers but also liberal figures from Hollywood.

One of the few conservative guests in recent months was Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former governor of California, who appeared last month. Observers noted that the late-night lineup for early 2025 was similarly dominated by left-leaning guests.

Co-host Ainsley Earhardt questioned whether “The View” truly offers a diverse perspective, requesting insight into whether it has become purely one-sided. Brian Kilmeade chimed in, calling the findings “the most amazing statistic of all time.” He reminisced about the show’s early days under Barbara Walters, designed to foster an open discussion. Now, he feels it leans heavily towards a singular perspective.

Lawrence Jones accused the show’s co-hosts of being dismissive toward conservative viewpoints. He noted that when conservative guests appear, they often face hostility, and there seems to be a tendency for the hosts to dismiss differing opinions. He also remarked on the challenges conservatives face when attempting to engage with the show’s format, especially with co-host Whoopi Goldberg present.

The View has yet to respond to requests for comments regarding the findings of the study. An insider from ABC News suggested that the focus on political leanings might not be applicable when booking guests who primarily appear to promote projects, rather than engage in political discourse.
