for a long time Saturday Night Live Star Bowen Yang received applause and laughter View Co-hosts and the show’s audience after he called Vice President JD Vance the “Pope Killer.”
Co-host Sarah Haynes asked Yang to play Vance on NBC’s sketch comedy show.
“I just thought there were better people out there for that,” Yang said. “It was my con man syndrome. I seemed to have a better person in this. I worked with an accent coach. I had to get the accent between Ohio and Appalachia. It’s difficult, it’s very subtle!”
Whoopi Goldberg told Yang that his portrayal of Vance was “hell-fun.”
Yang thanked her, “I mean, the man is the Pope’s murderer, right?” Goldberg bent aside, thunder continued.

Indeed, Pope Francis met Vice President Vance briefly on the hotel Sunday, along with his family to Rome on Easter weekend. “Pope Francis had a short private encounter that lasts several minutes to exchange good wishes on Easter Day,” the Vatican said in a statement.
Shortly after Vance’s visit, the Vatican announced early Monday morning that Pope Francis had passed. He was 88 years old.
