“The View” co-hosts weighed in Monday over whether President Biden should debate President Donald Trump, with Sarah Haines claiming the president could lose the debate if he makes a gaffe. However, the same did not apply to former presidents.

Alyssa Farrar Griffin said both sides of the argument are important, but real-time fact-checking will be key. He also said that if Biden doesn’t debate Trump, Trump’s team will lean into talking about age and mental strength.

“Actually, I disagree with you,” Mr. Haines replied. “I say that because normally my instinct is that it’s a good thing for democracy. If we don’t know these two people as well as we do, then they won’t be able to argue. I warn you that it will become more important,” she explained. .

“The problem is that Donald Trump comes and goes for the reasons you just described. In addition to fact-checking, Donald Trump talks too much, so after a certain amount of time, I wish they’d put me in a phone booth and turn off the microphone, but the gaslighting and all that. It often makes everyone look less than a certain level compared to Donald Trump,” Haines said.

‘The View’ co-hosts outraged by Biden report: ‘Evil versus good’

He said he didn’t think Biden should debate because Trump “hasn’t done anything since he lost to participate in this democracy.”

Co-host Joy Behar argued that presidential debates don’t have much of an impact on elections and will simply become a repeat of 2020.

“You don’t have to meet a guy who’s been impeached twice, who’s a disgrace, who’s been indicted on 91 counts and is a one-term president. I think that vindicates him. “We don’t need to be gaslit by Trump. We all are.” “We know who he is. We know what he stands for.” I know you debated twice and wiped the floor with him,” co-host Sunny Hostin said. “I don’t think you would give him a platform like that.”

Griffin reiterated that Americans need to see Biden and Trump go head-to-head.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg said everyone in this country knows who President Trump is.

“All I know is that Joe can stand there and tell people everything he’s done, and he can do it until the cows come home, right?” she said. Told. “That won’t be a problem.”

Griffin spoke out again, calling out “homeless Republicans” who want answers about policy.

“Biden could lose, he could lose in a debate. Trump doesn’t. People who support Trump are going to support him whether he’s there or not,” Haines said. Mr. Biden has made one mistake, and those who are undecided will be out.”

Behar also suggested that while Biden’s failures could hurt him, Trump’s failures would not affect the former president’s position.

Trump challenged Biden to a debate in a radio interview. “I want to debate him right now, because we should debate it. We should debate it for the sake of our country,” Trump said.

Biden was asked about Trump’s comments later in the day while campaigning in Nevada.

“Right now? Well, if I were him, I’d want to debate too. He doesn’t have anything else to do,” Biden told reporters.
