ABC’s *The View*, a well-known daytime show owned by Disney, is excited to host former President Joe Biden and former First Lady Jill Biden. This upcoming appearance marks their first television interview since leaving the White House earlier this year.
The Bidens will join hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sarah Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro on Thursday, May 8th. This was reported by *Hollywood Reporter*.
The show has warmly welcomed the Bidens in previous years. The couple plans to discuss the former president’s “legacy” and their experiences amid the current political climate.
It’s no surprise they’re choosing *The View* for their first public interview since Biden’s presidency. Notably, he’s been a guest on the show about ten times in the past.
In September 2024, Biden made history as the first sitting U.S. president to co-host the show during a live interview, with former President Barack Obama also making an appearance. During the 2010 presidency, Obama’s segment was pre-recorded.
The Bidens’ upcoming interview follows events surrounding former Vice President Kamala Harris, who faced a significant defeat against President Donald Trump in a landslide election. This included Trump not only winning the electoral college but also sweeping all swing states. It’s been a tumultuous time, especially with a recent assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.
