In a recent interview, Miley Cyrus reflected on her early dabbling with marijuana and alcohol and discovering her wild side.
The famous singer appeared on the latest episode of “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” with David Letterman and opened up about her wild days while starring on “Hannah Montana.” people.
“I hadn’t completely left the show, but I was starting to experience life,” Miley told Letterman. “I was definitely drunk when I met you.” [on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’ in 2010]”… I drank alcohol and I smoked marijuana.”
She recalled a moment early in her career when a producer noticed another side of her was beginning to take shape.
“I remember there was a producer on set and he said, ‘This lion is never going back in his cage,’ because I had discovered the wildness within myself. And then I remembered that everything changed when I started experiencing my own life,” she told People magazine.
Although Cyrus admits to partying and living a free-spirited life, she was able to control herself when it mattered and continues to enjoy success, much of which she attributes to her famous father, Billy Ray.

According to People magazine, the famous singer admitted that if it weren’t for his father, “he wouldn’t be sitting in this chair.”
“He’s a real person with a connection to reality and nature and a down-to-earth personality, and he always was, even when he was super famous,” she told Letterman.

She went on to say that it was her father who opened the doors for her into the music industry.
“I wouldn’t exist, but the person I am wouldn’t exist,” Cyrus said.
“My dad has always made me feel at ease because he’s creative and he has an artistic mind, and my dad and I think very similarly, so I think a lot of his outlook on reality and life is more from him than the way I was raised. According to People magazine, Miley told Letterman that her mother, Tish Cyrus, is her “hero.”
