‘There’s a lot of names that are in the mix’

Rep. Elise Stefanik (RN.Y.) dodged a question Sunday about whether former President Trump had discussed her as a running mate, noting that “many names” were being considered.

Stefanik joined Trump and a number of other vice presidential candidates at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago mansion in Florida over the weekend. Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo asked the New York Republican whether President Trump had mentioned her as his running mate while she was in attendance.

Stefanik noted there were many Republicans there and the rally showed how united the party is.

“Oh, there were a lot of great members there,” she said on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.” “Maria, what really struck me was how united the Republican Party is and how many rising stars there are. There are so many names in the mix. My name is among them. I’m honored to be included.”

“But this is a true testament to the strength of the Republican Party. There are a lot of up-and-coming people working hard every day to save America. And this is exactly what will save this country this November. “It’s a unified campaign to support President Trump, who is deaf,” she continued.

Stefanik, along with Lara Trump, Trump’s daughter-in-law and co-chair of the Republican National Committee, and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) hosted a reception Friday to kick off the weekend. CNN reported.

Speculation is swirling about who President Trump will choose as his running mate in the November election. Other running mate candidates include North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, Sen. Tim Scott (R.C.), and several others.

Stefanik has not ruled out becoming President Trump’s vice president. She also said earlier this year that if she were in then-Vice President Mike Pence’s shoes, she would not have allowed the 2020 election results to be certified on January 6, 2021. Stated.
