President Donald Trump has suggested he may “resume insane asylum,” and recently discussed the issue of crime during an interview related to Washington, D.C.’s criminal crackdown, expressing concerns about the state of society and its inability to manage certain individuals.

In an interview on Friday, Trump stated that “the government will be open to resuming insane asylum for people with serious mental illnesses.”

“Yes,” he affirmed.

When the interviewer pressed him for more details, Trump elaborated.

“You know, it’s very expensive. But back in New York, they were everywhere. I remember growing up with Creed Moore. And there was talk many years ago about not releasing these people, but they were indeed let back into society. That’s the reality we’re facing.”

He concluded, “Because you can’t walk around these people.”

He mentioned his achievements in enhancing the Metropolitan Police Department’s operations and the deployment of the National Guard to address crime in the area, claiming that the area is now a “crime-free zone.”

“It’s incredible—we’re a crime-free zone now. There’s just no crime. People are dining out again. They’ve opened up all of Washington, D.C.,” Trump remarked.

“We worked hard to make this happen, but the results came even faster than we expected. In another couple of weeks, it’ll be even better. People are going to restaurants they haven’t been to in four years. They’ve been hesitant to even leave their cars,” he added.

Interestingly, even Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser acknowledged a significant drop in carjackings and overall crime, crediting Trump’s initiatives.

“We appreciate the boost in resources that has enhanced the capability of the MPD in this city,” the mayor said during a press conference last week.

“This increase was crucial for us because neighborhoods feel safer when carjackings decrease and gun violence drops. We saw a decline in murders and robberies,” she noted, mentioning her collaboration with General Pam Bondy and Trump’s White House chief, Susie Wies.
