President-elect Donald Trump celebrated New Year's Eve at his Mar-a-Lago, Florida, mansion and club on Tuesday, warning Hamas terrorists that they “better get the hostages back soon.”
President Trump was accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump. stopped He was there to speak to the media on his way to a big New Year's Eve party at a club. He predicted that “amazing things will happen” in the new year, adding that “perfect light will shine not only on our country but on the whole world.”
But he reiterated his warning against terrorists holding 100 Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip, including seven American citizens, three of whom are believed to be alive.
The warning reiterated an ultimatum issued by President Trump in early December, declaring there would be “hell in retribution” if Hamas did not release the hostages by the Jan. 20 inauguration.
Negotiations resumed after this warning, but failed again when Hamas refused to release all the hostages and insisted that Israel end the war as part of the deal.
Asked if he had any New Year's resolutions, President Trump replied, “I just want everyone to be happy and healthy and well.”
