Democrats and the Biden administration “concocted these charges” against former President Donald Trump to distract from the failures of President Joe Biden, Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, said. Breitbart News SaturdayAnd ultimately, he warned, this “is not good for them, the Democrats.”
“The whole idea of this is they don’t want to talk about inflation. They don’t want to talk about the border. They don’t want to talk about wars going on around the world because that’s a disaster. Biden doesn’t want to take responsibility for that,” said Vance, a possible running mate for Trump.
He concluded that “they trumped up these charges to paint Donald Trump as a convicted criminal.”

Vance noted that for some time, Democratic activists have acknowledged that New York’s business records lawsuits were “the weakest of all the cases.”

“In fact, they were upset that Alvin Bragg had filed this case because it confirmed the theory that it was all a false political prosecution. … They didn’t want Alvin Bragg’s case at all, because it made it clear that it was all about politics and not about justice,” he said, pointing to the fact that it ended up being the only case that went to trial. So, all of a sudden, they decided it was “the most important trial of the century,” even though “there was all this data pointing to it being politically biased.”
“The judge has donated to Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, he has financial interests. [Juudge Juan Merchan’s] “Lady, you have a prosecutor funded by George Soros who is committed to getting Donald Trump. That is not an objective administration of justice,” Vance said, highlighting Marchan’s constant interventions to save the prosecution’s case.
“It’s clearly about politics, and I think the American people see through that,” he said.
Vance said Democrats “got what they wanted in this election,” but he doesn’t think it will end up favorable for them.
“I don’t think it’s good for them and this is kind of — it’s backfired in the past — to quote my favorite line. Happy Gilmore“They’ve not only energized the MAGA base, they’ve energized many ordinary, apolitical Americans who know that if they can charge all of Trump with 34 felony counts for paperwork violations, even if their claims are successful, they’re going to use the justice system against all of their opponents,” the senator said.
“And I think a lot of Americans are saying this is not the country that we know and love. I’ve had enough,” he added.
