‘This guy gets stuff done’

“Shark Tank” investor Kevin O’Leary is going all in on one of the front-runners to be former President Trump’s 2024 running mate.

During an interview on “Fox & Friends Weekend,” Mr. Wonderful gave an enthusiastic endorsement of North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, saying he would be a “great” choice for President Trump.

“I’ve been going to North Dakota State for a number of years now and I’ve seen what he can do with execution, and what he’s done for the state is incredible,” O’Leary said Saturday.

O’Leary said he met Burgum several years ago when he came to Fargo for a “Shark Tank” deal and the governor convinced him to start investing in North Dakota.

“What he’s done for the state is incredible,” he said.

“Few Americans know that the wealthiest people in the country live in North Dakota. Doug Burgum proves it.”

He suggested Burgum was the executive “getting it done guy” needed to carry out President Trump’s policies.

“I don’t think the other candidates have that proven skill set, so I’m unabashedly supporting someone I know to be a phenomenal leader in the business world.”

Trump has remained tight-lipped about who he would consider as the 2024 Republican presidential nominee.

In a recent interview with Fox News’ Aisha Husney at the Republican National Committee headquarters in Washington, D.C., Trump said he has a “pretty good idea” about who his running mate will be, but that the choice probably won’t be announced until the Republican National Convention in August.

The former president visited Washington last week to meet with Republican lawmakers and seek to unite the party ahead of its convention.

When asked if anyone he met with was a potential vice presidential candidate, Trump replied, “Probably. I don’t want to go there, but I think it will probably be announced during the convention.”

“We’ve had some great guys and we have some very talented people.”

The tournament will be held in Milwaukee from July 15-18.

Several names are reportedly on President Trump’s shortlist.

In addition to Burgum, the other two Republican senators are J.D. Vance of Ohio and Marco Rubio of Florida, and the Trump campaign formally requested documents earlier this month as part of the vetting process for a vice presidential nominee.

Also under consideration are Sens. Tom Cotton of Arkansas and Tim Scott of South Carolina, Reps. Byron Donald of Florida and Elise Stefanik of New York, and Ben Carson, a former neurosurgeon who served as secretary of Housing and Urban Development in the Trump administration.

But Burgum is clearly the best choice for O’Leary.

“He’s pro-business, pro-growth, pro-innovation, pro-entrepreneur. You want that in every state. It might sound crazy, but if you’re a Democrat listening to this right now, you want Doug Burgum as your vice president. He’s not partisan in any way when it comes to growing the American economy. He’ll always work with both sides. That’s how you get things done.”
