‘This is a brazen lie’: Biden gets roasted for bizarre claim trying to explain devastating debate performance

President Joe Biden offered a new excuse for his disgraceful debate performance, but it was quickly fact-checked on social media and he was accused of lying.

After Biden’s debate stumbles and allegations that his intellectual and cognitive abilities had declined, many on the left turned against his campaign and called for him to be removed from the White House.

“I wasn’t very clever.”

On Tuesday, the president offered new excuses for his poor performance amid further calls for him to be replaced.

“I wasn’t very smart.” Said Biden spoke to reporters about the debate.

“I decided to travel the world a few times. I don’t know how many time zones I went through, but I think it was actually 15,” he added.

“He didn’t listen to his staff,” Biden said, “and he fell asleep onstage.”

He continued: apologize He praised his own performance but added that it was “vitally important” to the campaign.

“This is an explanation, not an excuse,” he added.

He apparently spoke to reporters for six minutes before being taken away.

“So this is a brazen lie.”

The excuse was immediately attacked by Biden’s critics, who pointed out that it contradicted previously known facts: Biden had spent more than a week preparing for the debate.

“Biden returned from an overseas trip on June 15th. The debate was on June 27th.” Reply Jim Geraghty of National Review.

“The trip he is referring to ended almost two weeks before the debate. Did anyone point this out?” Asked Leon Wolf, editor in chief of TheBlaze;

“So this is a brazen lie. He came back 12 days before the debate and spent the week before that preparing.” Responded Charles C. W. Cook of National Review. “He would start getting ready at 11 a.m. each day and take a nap in the afternoon.”

“This contradicts reports that Biden spent a week preparing for the debates, starting at 11 a.m. and taking afternoon naps. If he can’t recover from a week-long trip to Europe in such comfortable conditions, he can’t be president.” Reply Spencer Brown, Editor-in-Chief of Townhall.com;

One poll showed Trump had a 6 percentage point lead over Biden among registered voters after the debate, and far more viewers said the debate gave Trump a victory than said Biden did.
