We’re now into the second week of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, and the PGA Tour is making its way to St. Louis.
Following last week’s opening round, the field has been trimmed from 70 to 50 players, which means some fan favorites like Jordan Spieth and Max Homa will not be participating. The BMW Championship kicks off today.
Scottie Scheffler has solidified his position at the top of the playoff standings after winning the FedEx St. Jude Championship last week. He has a significant lead of 1,447 points over Matt Fitzpatrick, who finished second.

How to watch the BMW Championship for free
If you’re without cable, there are ways to stream the BMW Championship at no cost. Personally, I think DIRECTV is a great option for live sports. They offer a 5-day free trial, so you can start off with that—there’s potential savings of $30 for the first month. Their choice plan includes ESPN, Golf Channel, and CBS among more than 125 channels.
You might also look into the DIRECTV MySports Genre Pack for ESPN, Golf Channel, and CBS, with plans starting at $49.99 monthly, plus a 5-day free trial.
With both plans, you gain access to the ESPN app, and additional coverage is available via PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ during all four tournament days, which features live streams before the televised broadcasts start.
