Thousands of Houthis hold parade to taunt US and Israel

Thousands of armed Houthi believers gathered in Yemen’s capital on Monday for a parade celebrating the terrorist group’s attacks on the United States and Israel in the Red Sea.

The latest rally by the Houthis and their supporters was held in the capital Sanaa on Monday, with demonstrators waving guns and Palestinian flags to show support for Iranian-backed terrorists.

Some demonstrators also trampled Israeli and American flags, which were thrown to the ground to show solidarity against the Houthi enemies.

The rally was held to show support for the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas, which has been at war with Israel in the Gaza Strip since Hamas secretly launched a massacre against Israel on October 7.

In a show of solidarity, the terrorist group claimed without any evidence on Monday that it had attacked a U.S. Navy ship in the region. American officials quickly denied the claim.

Houthi military spokesperson Brig. Gen. Yahya Salih said the group fired a missile at the battleship USS Louis B. Prah, which was serving as a mobile base for a naval operation to seize Iranian weapons destined for Yemen in the Gulf of Aden.

U.S. defense officials said Monday there were no such reports of attacks on mobile bases.

The attacks and demonstrations, which are said to have been ongoing since October 7, have intensified further this month following US-led airstrikes in Yemen.

The United States and Britain launched retaliatory strikes against the group, destroying several Houthi drones and missile sites.

The attack on Yemen is aimed at dismantling Houthi military capabilities that could be used to attack commercial shipping in the Red Sea.

The Biden administration recently reversed a 2021 decision to relist the Yemen-based group as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist Organization.

The terrorist organization denounces this label and continues to fire missiles and explosive drones against ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden almost daily to show support for Hamas.

The attack has caused disruption to global trade by directly interfering with a key supply route between Europe and Asia, and the Houthis have vowed to continue their attacks until the end of the war in Gaza.

Terrorist leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi welcomed the fight with the US in mid-January, arguing it would only further strengthen the militant group.

“We praise God for this great blessing and this great honor that we are in direct confrontation with Israel and the United States,” he said in a televised statement.
