Texas Border Authorities Arrest Three Americans for Child Sex Crimes

Border officials in Texas detained three Americans over the weekend at separate crossings, all suspected of involvement in child sex offenses.

The arrests took place at the ports of entry in Laredo, Del Rio, and Hidalgo, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

“The rapid succession of these three cases underscores the essential role that CBP plays in safeguarding the most vulnerable among us,” remarked Donald R. Kusser, Director of Field Operations for CBP’s Laredo Field Office.

The first arrest happened on Saturday at the Juarez Lincoln Bridge in Laredo. A 64-year-old man named Rito Bueno was found in a vehicle that was referred for a secondary inspection.

Upon investigation, officers discovered that Bueno was wanted in Bexar County for aggravated sexual assault of a child. He was subsequently taken to Webb County Jail.

The following day, Anthony Magana Mendoza, 22, was apprehended at the Anzalduas International Bridge connecting Mission, Texas, and Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He was also subject to a secondary inspection and was then arrested on a warrant related to assault and injury to a child.

In addition, 19-year-old Jose Caleb Juarez was taken into custody at the Del Rio International Bridge. Authorities were alerted to a warrant for his continued sexual abuse of children.

These actions illustrate a strong commitment to public safety and collaborative law enforcement efforts to ensure justice and protect communities.
