Three billionaires: America’s oligarchy is now fully exposed | Robert Reich

One of the unapproved benefits of the terrible times we entered is that it is clear to everyone that we see a rotten connection between large-scale wealth and great powers.

The oligarchs are completely exposed and rebellious. This is like pressing the “public code” key on an old computer where you can see everything.

Wednesday, Jeff Bezos The third most abundant person In the US, I bought the Washington Post. In 2013, the opinion section of the paper announced that it would focus on advocacy for “personal freedom and the free market.”

According to this, anything that contradicts this view will not be published. His statement. “The perspectives against these pillars will be made public by others.”

David Shipley, the opinion editor of the post, quickly resigned, as he has.

You will remember that in the final weeks of the 2024 election, Bezos prevented him from supporting Kamala Harris. The paper then resigned as a cartoonist without printing pictures of Bezo and other oligarchs showing him bowing to Trump.

Elon Musk, the world's wealthiest person, bought Twitter in 2022, fired everyone who excluded hateful crap on the platform, renamed it X, and turned it into a lie Sespool in support of Trump.

Mark Zuckerberg, the second most abundant figure, follows the lawsuit, where Facebook has released lies, hatred and prejudices that support Trump's lies, hatred and prejudice.

All three of these men were in the first line at Trump's inauguration. They and other billionaires are exposing themselves for what they are.

They are Oliheads. They continue to suck up the wealth of their people. They support tyrants who promise tax cuts and regulatory rollbacks that will enrich them.

They are destroying democracy, so they don't need to worry about “parasites” (as Musk calls people who depend on government aid) and demand something more from them.

When billionaires control our communication channels, it is not a victory for free speech. It's a victory for their billionaire babbling.

When they talk about “personal freedom and the free market,” they mean their own freedom that other parts of America become richer and more powerful.

When they talk about “freedom,” what they actually seek is freedom from accountability.

This “public code” moment is, in a way, a blessing. This allows everyone to see where money and power went.

It is a prerequisite for a long and difficult but necessary process to create an economy and democracy for many, not just for a few.
