Three Confirmed Dead, Sixty Injured After Two Boats Overturn in China, According to Reports

Boating Accident in Southwestern China

Three individuals lost their lives, and 60 others required hospitalization after two tourist boats capsized in southwestern China, according to state media reports.

Approximately 70 people fell into the river when the boats overturned in Qianxi city, as noted by local authorities cited by the New UA News Agency.

As of Sunday evening, rescue workers were still searching for 14 missing individuals.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for “full effort” in the ongoing search and rescue operations, as well as in the treatment of those injured, according to Xinhua.

This incident follows another tragedy in central China just two months prior, where 11 people died when a passenger ship collided with an industrial vessel, causing 19 others to be thrown into the water.
