With just two weeks left until Election Day, the New York Times believes former President Donald Trump is making a big mistake by being tough on how to fight illegal immigration. After all, polls show that while Kamala Harris has been border czar, voters care more about the economy and inflation than they do about the millions of people who have been allowed into our country illegally. It has been shown that
My take: Never underestimate Trump's political instincts. Yes, Americans are shocked by more than 20% price rise while Joe Biden and Kamala Harris occupy the White House, poll reveals voters are worried about the economy It has become.
But what infuriates the crowd is the 10 or 20 million people who are allowed to enter and remain in the country illegally. What has energized the Trump candidacy since he descended the famous escalator at Trump Tower in 2015 is the threat of death from fentanyl, the threat of terrorism, and the cost of missing illegal aliens in our society. And for good reason: Americans know it's wrong.
'She's not doing anything': Nevada voters dissatisfied with Biden-Harris border policies as election looms
recent Scripps News/Ipsos Poll More than half of respondents, including 58% of independents and even 25% of Democrats, said they supported mass deportations, a response that would be unthinkable at any other time in this welcoming nation. 39% say illegal immigration is the biggest problem.
Politically, there are three reasons why Trump is right to double down on this issue. First, the Biden-Harris White House intentionally opened the border and ignored the results until polls showed the issue could hurt the election. This is no coincidence, and voters are certainly responsible. Second, Vice President Harris is forever personally tied to pardoning the nation for this crime. Like it or not, she was widely referred to as the “Border Emperor,” a challenge she failed spectacularly. Third, if Harris becomes president, she will undoubtedly allow tens of millions more immigrants into the country, increasing the risks and costs of a growing illegal population. At the end of the day, Harris told the hosts of “The View” that she can't think of anything she would change over the past three years. Presumably, this would include open borders.
We can't allow that to happen.
Out-of-control illegal immigration is causing tremendous damage to this country, and we will be dealing with the aftermath for years to come. Blue cities like New York and Chicago are experiencing increases in gang-related crime and rising costs of food and housing for people who arrive without being able to work legally. These cities are already stretched to budget limits thanks to high taxes, terrible schools, rampant crime, and anti-business regulations that have forced individuals and businesses to flee. The last thing New York or Chicago wants is another hole in their budget.
It's not just the blue metropolises that are bearing the burden of millions of new arrivals. Even in small towns like Norfolk, Massachusetts, with a population of 11,000, state officials have reopened unused, low-security prisons to house hundreds of Haitian immigrants. in town meetingAn angry woman whose son lost his health insurance exclaimed: american Citizen. “Americans should first seek help,” her voice echoes.
President Joe Biden has opened the border by issuing about 90 executive orders, including halting construction of President Trump's border wall, but most of them reverse steps taken by his predecessor to curb illegal immigration. It was. he knew what he was doing.

It was only in recent months that Mr. Biden finally moved to reduce the flow of migrants. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson He recently told the New York Post that he had “begged” President Biden to reinstate President Trump's “Remain in Mexico” policy, which required migrants to remain south of the border while awaiting their immigration court hearings. Biden objected to putting the United States last, explaining that “Mexico doesn't want that.” As Johnson rightly said to Biden, “…you are the president of the United States. It doesn't matter what Mexico wants.”
The obvious question is why the White House would allow this massive influx of illegal immigrants into the United States. There's only one answer. Clearly, Biden, Harris, and their party colleagues hope that over time, these new arrivals will be given a path to citizenship and become Democratic voters. All of the bills they have put forward that purport to deal with border security prioritize providing that pathway. Democrats have universally voted against measures that would make it harder for non-citizens to vote, and some places, such as New York, have passed laws allowing non-citizens to vote in local elections.
Imagine Democrats' dismay when it turns out that the country's Hispanic population is legitimately furious about open borders. Crime ravages neighborhoods and workers are threatened by low-wage, off-the-books jobs. They are angry that undocumented immigrants are entitled to free food and shelter, yet they went through the trouble of entering the United States legally. A survey of Latino voters earlier this year found that 82% want to crack down on human traffickers and drug smugglers at the southern border, and 58% want additional border security and increased security funding. Yes (58%).

that's the reason donald trump He received the highest share of the Hispanic vote of any Republican candidate in recent decades. Many Hispanics condemn Kamala Harrisalso known as the “border czar” of chaos, despite the vice president's revisionist claims denying responsibility. She claims she is responsible for uncovering the “root causes” of immigration, and that she has solicited U.S. companies to invest in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to do so. While such measures may eventually bear fruit, the reality is that they have no chance of reducing illegal immigration any time soon. She knows better.
Voters heading to the polls in the coming days face a stark choice: Harris to reopen the border, or Trump to close it immediately. As he (and Democrats historically) have said repeatedly, we want: legal Immigration to our country, preferably not people chosen for their potential contributions, illegal. We'll soon find out if that's what voters want too.
