Three teams showing strong interest in Von Miller might include this AFC powerhouse

Von Miller remains a free agent as training camp nears, but he’s optimistic about finding a new team shortly.

Brian Baldinger from NFL Network reported that the former Buffalo Bill, who was released last March, is drawing interest from three teams.

“I think Fong feels that he’s likely to sign before camp starts, which suggests he’s not overly concerned about the training camp aspect,” Baldinger mentioned. “Most people at his stage know what they need to focus on. He appears to be in excellent shape, so I think an agreement is coming soon.”

Baldinger also pointed out the Ravens as a possible destination for Miller, although he didn’t list them among the three teams actively pursuing him.

Miller, now 36, was signed in 2022 to a large six-year, $120 million deal as part of a strategy to enhance competitiveness in a tough AFC.

However, he faced challenges during the 2023 season, finishing without any sacks, also dealing with domestic violence allegations, which clouded his potential contribution.

While he reported to authorities after being implicated in a third-degree felony involving a pregnant woman, no charges were pressed during the first four games of the 2024 season.

Despite the setbacks, Miller showcased his talent in 2024, achieving six sacks and earning a high ranking as an edge rusher according to Pro Football Focus.

Teams looking to contend for the Super Bowl might be keen to add Miller, though he could be particularly appealing to franchises actively seeking veteran talent at reasonable prices. The Eagles, known for such acquisitions, do have a robust defensive lineup already.

Other franchises needing assistance with pass rushing include the Packers (ranked 27th), the Ravens (29th), and the Chargers (22nd).

Miller also gained recognition as the Super Bowl 50 MVP for his performance against the Carolina Panthers while playing for the Peyton Manning-led Broncos.
