Federal Charges Against Three Georgia Residents for Illegal Voting

Three individuals living in Georgia, identified as illegal aliens, are facing federal charges for allegedly participating in federal elections illegally, which contradicts claims made by some Democrats that such occurrences are virtually nonexistent.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia indicates that these actions are part of a broader investigation into the participation of non-citizens in elections. This inquiry is being conducted in collaboration with various agencies, including the U.S. Department of Justice, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office.

The individuals charged are named Pauline Lewis, Gabriel Covarrubias, and Analiea Milliscent Eccles.

U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg emphasized, “Voting in federal elections is a sacred right reserved to U.S. citizens, and every vote illegally cast by an alien cancels out a legal vote. Maintaining the integrity of our elections and protecting the voting rights of citizens are among the highest priorities of my office. We will work with federal law enforcement and our state partners to vigorously safeguard those rights through the prosecutions brought to date and more that may soon follow.”

Lewis, 65, originally from Antigua and Barbuda, has lived in Dawsonville since entering the U.S. on a student visa in 1979. She has been accused of submitting absentee ballots in the federal elections of 2020, 2021, and 2024.

Covarrubias, a 44-year-old from Mexico, allegedly voted under a false identity during the November 2024 election and provided misleading information on a passport application.

Eccles, a 43-year-old Venezuelan citizen residing in Morrow and falling under DACA protections, is said to have voted illegally nine times from 2008 to 2024 without obtaining U.S. citizenship.

The legal proceedings against them involve charges related to unlawful voting as non-citizens, alongside accusations of making false statements on federal documents and misrepresenting U.S. citizenship.

Officials have reiterated that non-citizens are prohibited from participating in federal elections, and they have stated that investigations are ongoing.

Ryan McSeveney, Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service in the Miami Field Office, remarked, “Protecting the integrity of U.S. elections requires enforcing the laws that govern who may lawfully participate. DSS is committed to working closely with our law enforcement partners to investigate allegations of unlawful voting and related document and identity fraud.”

Ellen Johnson, Acting Special Agent in Charge of HSI for Georgia and Alabama, commented, “When a foreign national votes in U.S. elections, it violates federal law and undermines public trust in our election system. HSI will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to investigate illegal voting and protect the integrity of America’s immigration and election systems.”
