The Las Vegas Raiders have had a notably active offseason.
Following a tough 4-13 season, the franchise made a significant change by parting ways with head coach Antonio Pierce, hiring Pete Carroll as his successor, and setting about reshaping the roster.
One of the key moves included acquiring Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith. They also signed a series of players: Darnay Holmes, Eric Stokes, Elandon Roberts, Jeremy Chinn, Malcolm Koonce, and Alex Cappa.
Additionally, they brought in Ashton Jeanti, wide receiver Jack Beck, and backup quarterbacks Tommy Melott and Cam Miller, adding more depth across various positions.
“We won four games last year, and that’s something we need to keep in mind,” commented John Spytek, the general manager. “Our roster is filled with really good young talent, alongside some solid veterans. The primary focus is on those who can sustain performance under pressure. We’re looking good.”
While the Raiders seem to be heading in the right direction, getting into the postseason in 2025 won’t be a simple task.
The recently released schedule indicates a tough road ahead.
Some key matchups at Allegiant Stadium this year include the Los Angeles Chargers on September 15, the Denver Broncos on December 7, and the Kansas City Chiefs at an undetermined date, all of whom were playoff teams last season.
Moreover, they’ll host the Chicago Bears on September 28 and the Dallas Cowboys on November 17.
