Tiger Woods Arrested for DUI Following Car Crash

Tiger Woods’ mug shot was made public Friday evening after his arrest on charges of drunk driving, which occurred following a car crash in Florida.

In the photo, Woods, who had bloodshot eyes, was pictured wearing a blue polo shirt while at the Martin County Jail in Florida.

According to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek, Woods’ vehicle was traveling at a “high rate of speed” before it collided with another car, resulting in Woods’ vehicle rolling onto its side.

Authorities reported that Woods exhibited signs of impairment. While he blew a “triple zero” for alcohol, he declined a urine test.

“DUI investigators arrived and assessed Mr. Woods for signs of impairment. He mentioned his injuries and past surgeries during the assessment, which we took into consideration,” Budensiek stated. “Initially, we had no reason to believe alcohol was a factor, which was confirmed later. However, when we requested a urine test, he refused, leading to charges of DUI, criminal damage to property, and refusal to take a legal test.”

After the accident, Woods was seen wearing navy blue shorts and talking on the phone.

He faced charges for driving under the influence, criminal damage to property, and refusal to submit to testing, all classified as misdemeanors. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and Woods was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash. He crawled out through the passenger door.

Despite the incident, Sheriff Budensiek noted, “This could have been much worse.”

President Trump referred to Woods as a “very close friend” and expressed concern about the situation. “I don’t feel very well. He’s having some difficulties,” Trump said. “There was an accident, and that’s all I know. He’s a very close friend and a great guy, but he’s experienced some challenges.”

Woods has yet to comment on the arrest. He is currently in a relationship with Vanessa Trump, who is the former daughter-in-law of President Trump, and their daughter, Kai, is set to compete in college golf in Miami next week.

This marks Woods’ second DUI arrest in the last decade; he was previously arrested in 2017 under similar circumstances after falling asleep at the wheel while on Jupiter Island. Additionally, he was involved in a severe accident in 2021 that resulted in significant leg injuries, sidelining him for a year.

Woods recently returned to competitive golf at the TGL Championship after recovering from a torn Achilles tendon sustained just before last year’s Masters tournament.
