Tiger Woods’ Mugshot Sparks T-Shirt Trend

Tiger Woods’ recent mugshot is making its rounds on T-shirts.

During the third round of the PGA Tour’s Houston Open on Saturday, some fans sported white shirts featuring the hashtag “FreeTiger” along with a photo of Woods, who was arrested for drunk driving the day before.

At least a couple of fans were seen holding beers, posing for photos.

The fan support came just after Woods was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving close to his home in Jupiter Island, Florida. He had flipped his Land Rover after colliding with a truck around 2 PM on Friday but managed to escape without major injuries.

According to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek, Woods was driving at a “high rate of speed” and is believed to have been under the influence of “some type of drug or narcotic.” Notably, he tested “triple zeros” on a breathalyzer, so alcohol was ruled out. However, he declined a urine test, leaving authorities uncertain about what substances were involved.

Woods was released on bail Friday night after spending at least eight hours in custody, as dictated by Florida’s intoxication laws. He was later seen driving away in a black SUV.

This incident marks Woods’ first arrest in almost nine years; his previous DUI arrest occurred in Florida, where he attributed his situation to a mix of painkillers.

This latest event follows a serious accident in California five years ago that severely injured his right leg. Woods has also undergone several back surgeries, with the most recent being a disc replacement in September while recovering from a torn Achilles tendon.

A iconic golfer with 15 major victories, Woods is tied for the most wins on the PGA Tour at 82. He hasn’t participated in tournament golf since the 2024 British Open. He did, however, appear in the TGL Indoor League just three days before the accident, which raised some speculation about his potential return for next month’s Masters, though it seems unlikely he would compete at Augusta.
