Tim McGraw Reflects on His Bond with Faith Hill
Tim McGraw, who has been with Faith Hill for nearly three decades, recently reminisced about their first encounter back in 1994. At 58, he shared his thoughts during an episode of Tracy Lawrence’s “Roadhouse” podcast, saying, “I was incredibly lucky. First, I met my wife. I really saved my life. I was a wild man, just enjoying the fun.”
The couple started dating in 1996 while on tour before getting married. They share three daughters: Gracie, Maggie, and Audrey. McGraw expressed how profoundly Hill, now 57, has impacted his life: “She has completely transformed me. I can’t imagine a better partner. Not only is she immensely talented and beautiful, but she’s also a genuinely good person.”
He went on to say that fatherhood “changed everything” for him. “It shifted my perspective and reshaped how I think about the future,” he admitted. “It certainly drew me out of my own world.”
McGraw highlighted their shared career experiences, particularly during the “Soul2Soul” tours. “It’s a unique opportunity for couples in this industry to tour together at such high peaks in their careers,” he reflected.
Although their last tour wrapped up in 2018, they continue to collaborate, including their roles in the Paramount+ series “1883,” which serves as a prequel to “Yellowstone.” McGraw shared that Hill elevates his artistry: “Every time I sing with her, I become a better artist. Her voice is incredibly soulful, and her taste in music is just remarkable.”
Since 2008, McGraw has managed his sobriety and acknowledges Hill’s unwavering support throughout his journey. “She’s my foundation in everything I do. I honestly don’t think I could function without her,” he said, reflecting on the challenges he’s faced along the way.
McGraw recognized that his path hasn’t always been straightforward: “Sometimes you take steps forward, and other times, there are setbacks. It’s an ongoing process that requires constant effort.”
In discussing his music, he revealed one of his favorite songs, “It’s Your Love,” which he performed with Hill. He reminisced about the time they created the song, recalling how Hill was pregnant with Gracie during the music video shoot. “It marked a significant moment in our relationship and had an immense impact on my music career,” he said. The song even earned four Academy of Country Music Awards in 1997.
