Tim Scott Calls Democratic Candidates for Midterms 'Threatening, Extreme, and Strange'

Sen. Tim Scott Calls for Support Against Democrats in Upcoming Midterms

During an appearance on FNC’s “Hannity,” Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), who leads the National Republican Senatorial Committee, urged viewers to continue backing Republican efforts to overcome their Democratic rivals in the midterm elections this November.

Scott expressed concerns about what he referred to as fringe candidates within the Democratic Party, labeling them as “dangerous, radical, and weird.”

Host Sean Hannity questioned whether polling truly reflects the extremity of these candidates, asking Scott if he believed the data accurately portrayed the situation.

In response, Scott stated that their polling indicates several races are highly competitive. “It’s crucial to keep pressure on the target. We’re talking about candidates on the Senate Democratic side who are, yeah, really out there. If we expose their falsehoods and reveal their true nature to the American public, we can win,” he added. He cited James Talarico, who, in his view, has extreme beliefs about gender and capitalism, expressing his own confusion over such perspectives. Scott reflected on how capitalism positively impacted his own life.

Scott continued, moving from Texas to Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, mentioning El-Sayed’s controversial opinions, including his views on football and calls to abolish ICE and defund the police. “That’s right, we cherish our football here,” he emphasized, pointing out that these views are becoming prevalent across the country. He described these candidates as “wolves in sheep’s clothing” who may attempt to align with moderates but have made extremely radical statements in the past, even noting remarks from Maine’s Troy Jackson about running as a communist if it were possible.

“America, we need to pay attention to what these Democrats and self-described socialists, even some who lean toward communism, have said before election time. It’s vital that we trust these claims, bring them to light, and defeat them,” Scott concluded. He also mentioned Chris Pappas from New Hampshire, asserting that he has never met a tax increase he didn’t favor. “Again and again, we see Democrats who represent perhaps the most radical faction, wanting to shift America away from the ideals we hold dear,” Scott remarked.
