Tim Walz condemns Hamas after appearing to miss question about murdered hostages

Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz appeared to miss a question about the six hostages found dead in Gaza while visiting the Minnesota State Fair on Sunday.

The video, which has been circulating online, shows the Minnesota governor addressing supporters and answering some questions.

Someone off-camera can be heard asking Waltz, “What's your reaction to the six hostages found dead in Gaza?”

Without replying, Waltz told the assembled crowd, “Okay, thank you everyone,” and walked away.

Judging from the angle, Waltz appears to be avoiding the question, but it's not clear from the footage whether he heard the question.

The video was enough to infuriate X users, with some calling him a “coward” for not responding.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Harris-Waltz campaign to ask if the governor heard the question and, if not, what his response was.

Walz issued a statement late Sunday, condemning Hamas as a “brutal terrorist organization.”

“The grief of losing a child is something no family should have to endure. Gwen and I send our deepest condolences to the Goldberg-Polin family whose son, Hersh, was murdered by Hamas,” a post on Waltz's X account read. “Hamas is a brutal terrorist organization and we condemn in the strongest possible terms the atrocities they are committing against both America and Israel.”

Waltz's appearance at the Minnesota State Fair came after the Israel Defense Forces discovered the bodies of six Israeli hostages during a rescue operation in an underground tunnel in the Rafah area of the Gaza Strip.
