Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (Democrat) previously criticized former President Donald Trump’s move to ban transgender people with gender dysphoria from serving in the US military, calling it “wrong.”
In the video Posts Waltz told X that President Trump’s policies regarding transgender people serving in the US military are not only wrong, but have undermined the “national security” of the US, adding that transgender people serving in the military deserve to be treated with “respect,” “dignity” and “gratitude.”
Vice President Kamala Harris announced on Tuesday that she would nominate Walz to be her vice presidential nominee.
“Before I became governor of this great state, I was a high school teacher, a football coach and served in the Army National Guard for 24 years,” Gov. Walz said in a video in 2019. “I taught my students, athletes and soldiers in my ranks that marginalizing and bullying is not only morally wrong, it weakens us as a force.”

“Let me be clear: It didn’t matter what gender, race or religion those who served in the military were,” Walz said. “What mattered was that they raised their hand, served our country and were willing to risk their lives to protect every one of us.”
As Breitbart News previously reported, a policy enacted under the Trump administration allows transgender individuals to serve in the U.S. military in their biological sex. policyNew applicants will not be able to serve unless they have been stable for 36 months and are willing to serve in their biological sex.
“The president’s ban on our transgender brothers and sisters is not just wrong, it weakens our national security,” Walz added. “We need to ensure that those who are willing to serve us are given the respect, dignity and gratitude they deserve.”
In January 2021, President Joe Biden issued an executive order reversing President Trump’s policies.
As Governor of Minnesota, Walz Signed A bill that would allow minors in the state to undergo sex reassignment surgery.
Waltz too Signed A bill that would require men’s restrooms in Minnesota schools to be stocked with menstrual products.
