Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has been reported for ties to a Muslim cleric who has praised Adolf Hitler online and praised Hamas, the Islamic militant group responsible for the October 7 attack on innocent Israelis.
Over the past few years, Imam Asad Zaman has used his Facebook page to share links to official Hamas press releases, blog posts from anti-Semitic sites, and the pro-Hitler film “The Untold Story,” which was released in 2015. The 2013 propaganda film is anti-Semitic and popular among extremist groups. According to the Anti-Defamation League:.
The Walz administration has donated more than $100,000 to Zaman’s group. Muslim American Association of MinnesotaFederal prosecutors have described the Muslim American Society as “established as an open arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States,” according to state records reviewed by the Washington Examiner, which was first reported by the outlet.

The Islamic organization, which was designated a terrorist organization by the United Arab Emirates in 2014, came under fire in 2019 after a video was released showing children at an event in Philadelphia calling for the killing of Jews.
After Rep. Katie Porter, D-Calif., condemned the Oct. 7 attack the next day, Zaman asked if he would “reaffirm the right of Palestinians to defend themselves.” In a statement on Oct. 7, Zaman’s Islamic group declared that it “reaffirms its unwavering support for the Palestinian struggle against the Israeli occupation.”
In May 2023, Zaman attended a mosque security meeting with Governor Walz’s office.

Social media posts reviewed by the Examiner also show that Zaman attended a Ramadan event hosted by Waltz in May 2019. A recent report by the Washington Free Beacon also noted that Waltz attended the 2019 event with an anti-Semitic academic who supports terrorism against Israel.

Zaman, who is originally from Bangladesh, expressed solidarity with the Palestinians following the terrorist attack carried out by Hamas against Israel on October 7. He also supported posts criticizing the Biden-Harris administration’s stance towards Israel, sharing an image of the Palestinian flag on Facebook.

Zaman reportedly attended an event with Walz calling for peaceful protests during the Black Lives Matter riots in Minnesota in May 2020 following the death of George Floyd. As first reported by the Washington Examiner, Zaman delivered a prayer at Walz’s State of the State address in April 2019 and joined Walz in calling for an end to the government shutdown in January 2019.
The Harris-Waltz campaign did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital by deadline.
