Chalamet Chooses Knicks Over Met Gala
Who has the bandwidth for the Met Gala when the Knicks are making a playoff run, right?
This seems to be the mindset of Timothée Chalamet, who decided to forgo the glamorous event in favor of watching the Knicks secure a nail-biting 108-105 win in the playoffs. It’s quite a commitment.
Chalamet, a well-known Knicks enthusiast, shared his game-day emotions on social media, giving his followers the same rollercoaster ride that every other Knicks fan experienced that night. He even posted a snap of himself glued to his iPad, intently watching the game.
In another post, which was later deleted but caught by TMZ, he expressed a sentiment shared by many Knicks fans: “This game is insane.” It’s a vibe, really.
After the thrilling win, he couldn’t help but share his excitement, saying, “Shaking What A Win,” though that message, too, was removed at some point.
Chalamet’s absence from the Met Gala meant he missed a chance to walk the red carpet alongside his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner. This was particularly noteworthy since it would have been their first time attending the event together in the two years they’ve been a couple.
Kylie, perhaps in a show of support for her boyfriend’s Knicks passion, shared a selfie donning a black Knicks hat while lounging in a black bikini, which she posted on her Instagram on game night.
It’s worth noting that just last week, the couple attended another playoff game, where the Lakers faced off against the Timberwolves.
Chalamet isn’t just a casual fan, though. He’s showcased his sports knowledge before—he even impressed audiences during a December appearance on “College Game Day,” discussing college football with surprising depth.
In a podcast episode with comedian Theo Fong, he also chatted about playing football with Nashville SC’s Alex Mule. Seems like Chalamet is really into sports beyond just the Knicks, which adds a layer to his public persona.
