TMZ Admits It Falsely Reported Beyoncé Primetime Performance at DNC

We were wrong. That was the message from TMZ on Friday, as they acknowledged their false claim that pop icon Beyoncé would be taking the stage at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

The entertainment media outlet claimed the hitmaker was planning to get the crowd going before Vice President Kamala Harris strutted inside a packed United Center to accept the Democratic presidential nomination.

But that never happened, and critics were quick to point out that the rumor was circulated by Democrats to boost primetime television viewership.

Now, the site has retracted and apologized for erroneously advertising the 32-time Grammy Award winner as a confirmed winner for the event.

“To quote the great Beyoncé, ‘You gotta lay all, all, all your cards down… you got it wrong this time,'” TMZ wrote to X on Thursday night.

Musicians Jason Isbell and Mickey Guyton performed Monday night, followed by Patti LaBelle and Common on Tuesday, Breitbart News reported.

John Legend also performed a tribute to Prince before Harris’ running mate Tim Waltz took to the stage.

“James Taylor was scheduled to be the highlight of Monday’s broadcast, singing ‘You Got a Friend’ as an introduction to his friend Joe Biden’s speech, but ran out of time because the show was running at over an hour,” he noted. Variety.
