Tennessee has passed a bill that would force food containing vaccines and vaccine-related substances to be classified as drugs.
The topic of edible vaccines has been discussed for years since COVID-19 vaccines faced backlash, but Tennessee lawmakers have tried to keep ingestible medicines under the radar.

Democratic state Sen. Heidi Campbell, who voted “no” in the Senate, called the bill’s passage “messy” and questioned its necessity. Campbell asked for evidence of “any instances in which food containing vaccines has been provided in Tennessee.”
Supporters in the Senate said the bill aims to ensure enforcement, although there are no concrete examples.
