A toddler is the only survivor of a van-trailer crash in Wisconsin that killed nine people, including seven from the Amish community, according to reports.

The crash happened Friday on Highway 95 southeast of Eau Claire in western Wisconsin, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that a 2-year-old boy who was thrown from the van survived and was rescued by a good Samaritan who saw the vehicle enter the path of a semi-truck at an intersection.

“I think God put me there for a reason,” Nathaniel Jahn told the newspaper about being able to save the child.
