Tom Brady bawled his eyes out when speaking to Patriots team over Deflategate, Darrelle Revis says

Legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady denied any wrongdoing during a team meeting over the infamous “Deflategate” scandal and went into a mental breakdown, a former Patriots teammate claims.

“When Deflategate happened and Tom was the headliner of the whole situation, he spoke to us as a team,” Darrelle Reavis said in the latest episode of the Apple TV+ documentary “The Dynasty.”

Revis claimed that Brady implored his teammates in the locker room that the charges against him were false and that he was not a distraction to the team.

“I could tell he was distraught…He said he would never do this to me. I’m not going to ruin the season for us. The allegations are false.” The Hall of Fame cornerback continued. “He actually opened his eyes and screamed in front of us.”

Brady was accused of ordering team officials to deflate game balls below the league minimum of 12.5 psi during the 2014 AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts.

The NFL allows air in the football to range from 12.5 to 13.5 psi.

Brady initially accepted a four-game suspension handed down by the league, but the seven-time Super Bowl player was able to appeal the decision in 2014.

Ultimately, the appeal was overturned in 2016, the Patriots were fined $1 million, and Brady was forced to miss the first four games of the season.

According to Darrelle Revis, Brady stressed to his teammates in the locker room that the accusations against him were false and that he promised not to let them destroy the team. AP

The team was also stripped of its first and fourth round draft picks.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft echoed the chaotic incident on the latest episode, saying Brady is “working extremely hard.”

“The last two weeks have been very difficult for Tommy. He has been working very hard,” Kraft said.

Brady felt like he had been stabbed in the back and was furious when Kraft held a press conference in 2015 to accept the quarterback’s suspension.

“Oh my god,” Brady said, according to “12: The Inside Story of Tom Brady’s Fight for Redemption.”

“Why am I not getting the support I deserve regarding this?” Brady said.

Despite the suspension, Brady and the Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks and won Super Bowl XLIX that year, helping to propel New England’s dynasty.
