Tom Brady knows all too well how valuable practice repetition is during game week, but his new job Sunday doesn't give him the same preparation for the next game.

So in his first year providing color commentary for “America's Game of the Week,” Brady is “learning on the fly” in the FOX Sports broadcast booth with Kevin Burkhardt. I know.

FOX News Digital caught up with Brady ahead of his Week 4 assignment against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Philadelphia Eagles and talked about how difficult it is to practice for this role in football as game kickoffs are underway. He spoke frankly.

“Obviously, we're getting better every week and every year,” Brady said, also speaking of his partnership with Abbott on the Big Ten Conference's “We Give Blood Drive.” “A really new career role certainly has its own unique challenges and I'm learning it on the fly. There's no hiding it. It's not like there's a real practice field.

“The only way to do that is you can't just go into the studio and do practice games over and over again. I did that, and I did it a lot. But it's a lot different when you're on the 50-yard line.” And what happens in real life? is happening in real time. ”

Tom Brady says he's “very happy” after being called up for first NFL game

Brady also knows how important receiving coaching and constructive criticism is to reaching his full potential. So he works with Burkhardt and others to perfect the new technology, but he recognizes that it won't be perfect the first time.

But at the same time, Brady enjoys the business side of it because he's still very involved in the league where he spent 23 seasons as a player.

“You have to give yourself a little bit of grace and also understand that there's a lot of urgency to move in the right direction,” Brady explained. “It's never going to be perfect, but it's a great challenge. I love going to the games and watching so many young athletes go out there and play their best and try to build their careers. It's really fun.”

“Coaches, I know what it means to the community when the team does well, so it’s just fun to be a part of that.”

As Brady heads into Week 4, many football fans are looking forward to his thoughts on the Bucs. The Bucs are the team Brady called his own for the last three seasons of his illustrious career and won his last Super Bowl in 2020.

The Eagles are looking to bounce back from last season's wild-card round loss to Tampa Bay. Saquon Barkley is currently in Philadelphia, so there will definitely be fireworks when these two collide in South Florida.

There will be many more notable games for Brady to provide analysis for this season and future seasons.
