Tom Brady offers advice to Aaron Rodgers as the NFL player thinks about retirement

Tom Brady Reflects on Career Transition and Supports Aaron Rodgers

It’s almost surreal to think about how Tom Brady spent almost two entire seasons away from the NFL after such an extraordinary career—one that’s pretty hard to replicate.

Brady had to grapple with the tough decision of stepping away from football and shifting into broadcasting. Over 23 seasons with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he secured seven Super Bowl titles.

Now, another big name, Aaron Rodgers, is facing similar reflections about his career. Primarily known for his years with the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers briefly played with the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers. Recently, he may have reached a turning point in his career after a playoff loss to the Houston Texans.

At a fan event in Inglewood, California, Brady was asked if he had any advice for the four-time NFL MVP. “Everyone decides what they want their future to be, and I think Aaron will have a lot of opportunities to do whatever he wants after his career,” he shared. “He’s had an amazing career, and whatever he chooses, well, that’s the right choice for him, so I’m truly happy for him.”

Since retiring, Brady has become a familiar face in sports broadcasting, teaming up with Kevin Burkhardt for FOX NFL games. Initially, he faced a bit of scrutiny regarding his commentary skills. People wondered if he could be as successful in the booth as he was on the field.

In his second season, there seems to be a consensus among fans and media that Brady has really improved, showcasing his understanding of the game, especially in challenging weather conditions.

He mentioned he’s been reflecting on his own progress: “Mom said so too,” he noted with a smile. “It’s just gotten easier and more enjoyable. Starting out, there’s so much you don’t know, but this past year has been a significant learning curve. I’m always tweaking my preparation, which is a process in itself.”

Brady expressed appreciation for the support he receives from his team at FOX Sports, saying, “They provide incredible guidance. The team here is phenomenal—Burkhardt, Tom Rinaldi, Erin Andrews—they all make it great to work together. The directors, producers, and graphics team, they’re top-notch, and I love being part of it.”

Looking ahead, Brady is set to play flag football in Saudi Arabia this March, an event that will be broadcasted on FOX.

So, what’s he most excited about? “Dominating and kicking…as always. Don’t expect anything else.”
