Tom Brady Returns to the Field
Tom Brady, the legendary seven-time Super Bowl champion, has decided to come out of retirement. He’ll be participating in a three-team flag football tournament scheduled for next March in Saudi Arabia.
Brady is expected to play alongside other notable NFL figures, including Saquon Barkley, CeeDee Lamb, Christian McCaffrey, Max Crosby, and Rob Gronkowski at the Francian Flag Football Classic, which will take place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on March 21. Notable coaches for the tournament include Pete Carroll, Sean Payton, and Kyle Shanahan.
Brady expressed his enthusiasm about the event: “This is a multi-year commitment,” he mentioned. “I think it’s the first time I’m doing something like this, but everyone I’ve spoken to seems really pumped to be a part of it.” He reflected on the significance of the 2028 Olympics and noted that this tournament could be a unique opportunity for NFL players.
Fox Sports will broadcast the tournament, featuring comedian Kevin Hart as the host. Brady has teamed up with Turki Alalshik, chairman of the Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Bureau, to make this event happen.
“We are incredibly excited to get back on the field with some of the game’s brightest stars and legendary figures, providing fans with a unique global sports experience during Riyadh season,” Brady added. He emphasized his admiration for flag football as a sport that connects various generations of fans.
Rob Gronkowski, another former teammate and now a Fox Sports analyst, said that his friends encouraged him to join the flag football event. “It’s just in my blood; I’ve always loved the competition,” he shared.
As anticipation builds for this one-of-a-kind event, it seems both players and fans are eager to see what unfolds in Saudi Arabia next March.
