Threats Against ICE Personnel and Their Families
On Thursday, Tom Homan, the border czar, revealed that his family is currently in hiding due to death threats and reporters attempting to find them.
According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), there has been a staggering 1,000% increase in assaults against law enforcement and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, along with threats directed at their families online. Homan shared on “The Faulkner Focus” that he had to leave home for several months, apart from his wife, as journalists sought to uncover details about his family.
“I haven’t been with my wife since late March because of threats to my life, and now reporters are trying to discover who my kids are. This is just ridiculous. It’s frankly insulting,” Homan expressed. He also voiced his support for the men and women of ICE and the Border Patrol, saying, “Every night before I sleep, I pray for all who wear that badge, hoping they return safely to their families.”
Homan emphasized that he cares for both ICE agents and undocumented immigrants, wishing for their safe return home, indicating he’s not in favor of any kind of violence.
In a distressing incident in Texas, the spouse of an ICE agent received a threatening call, which included disturbing remarks about their family and references to historical violence. The DHS reported that three women were indicted by a federal grand jury in September for livestreaming visits to ICE agents’ homes and revealing their addresses on social media.
Previously, Homan stated he wouldn’t be cowed by threats against his life. “They’re not going to silence me. I’m committed to this job because it’s crucial for national security,” he said. “No one will make me back down.” He aims to inform the public about the importance of his role.
Recently, an armed assailant who had “ANTI-ICE” inscribed on his bullets attacked an ICE facility, tragically resulting in the deaths of two individuals in custody. ICE agents have been actively arresting serious criminal offenders, including those involved in heinous acts like murder and sexual assault against children.
