Tommy Robinson Arrested Under ‘Anti-Terror’ Laws After Screening Banned Film, Supporters Claim

UPDATE 1300: The Metropolitan Police denies any involvement in Tommy Robinson’s arrest.

Police said in a statement: Said“Officers from the Metropolitan Police are not involved in the alleged arrest of Tommy Robinson and are not aware of any links to the protests which took place in London yesterday.”

“Additional police forces are involved in this matter and we expect further information to be released shortly. We are aware of online posts urging people to protest in London in relation to this issue. Any such protests must be lawful and we will deploy officers as necessary to prevent serious disruption and disorder and deal with any incidents.”

Tommy Robinson screened the banned film at a major demonstration in central London on Saturday. silence Protests were held in front of supporters, after which the activists were reportedly arrested by police.

Reports of his arrest came just as Robinson was due to appear in the High Court on Monday, charged with contempt of court for making the film and repeating allegations made in it. silence.

The film documents the legal battle between Mr Robinson and Jamal Hijazi, who successfully sued Mr Robinson in 2021 after Mr Hijazi alleged that a Syrian refugee boy had been attacking female students at the school before the Almondbury Community School incident made headlines.

Robinson was ordered to pay £100,000 damages to Hijazi and was also given an injunction preventing him from repeating the claims made in the film.
