Tommy Robinson Exposes Islamic State Magazine Threat

Tommy Robinson, a prominent figure known for his activism against grooming gangs and as the founder of the now-defunct English Defense League (EDL), has recently shared content from an Islamic State publication that calls for his assassination. This disclosure comes after he fled the UK earlier this year due to safety concerns.

In his new role as a sort of citizen journalist, Robinson posted excerpts from one of the few glossy magazines produced within the extremist Muslim world, which are designed to incite terror. European counterterrorism experts have long monitored these publications, with previous ones from groups like Islamic State and al-Qaeda, such as Dabiku and Inspire, gaining notoriety for promoting attacks using knives and vehicles by lone-wolf assailants. This particular magazine reportedly calls on its followers to kill Robinson for “disrespecting the Prophet.”

Robinson left Britain in February after British police informed him that they had received intelligence suggesting his life was at risk. Interestingly, he mentioned that police advised him not to engage in any form of self-defense against this specific threat because it stemmed from a “banned” publication.

In the UK, self-defense laws are quite restrictive, making it illegal to carry items—even something as seemingly harmless as pepper spray. Regardless of the situation, any form of proactive defense is risky.

The magazine in question, named Yargar, published striking images alongside direct threats against Robinson. One particular statement captured attention, reading:

“The Qur’an, the Prophet’s traditions, and consensus among Islamic scholars assert that anyone who insults the Prophet Muhammad should be executed without question, whether they are Muslim or not.”

Moreover, the publication discussed the “lone wolf” phenomenon, emphasizing how self-radicalized individuals pose significant challenges for Western intelligence. It portrayed these attackers as making impactful statements through their actions, expressing their grievances to the world.

Accompanying images showcased assault rifles with declarations like “Today we will invade your homes” and referenced historic Muslim victories in battles like Ain Jalut in 1260 AD, Yarmouk in 636 AD, and Hattin in 1187 AD.

Since leaving the UK following police guidance, Robinson has been in the United States. He has even visited the State Department in Washington and spoken to members of Congress. He is encouraging protests in London, aiming to rally support in the coming months.
