Top Biden aides worry over ‘scary’ situation of President not having a serious plan to beat Trump: Report

With just months to go until the November election, Democratic strategists and advisers to President Biden are expressing concern about the direction and leadership of the campaign.

A Democratic strategist in contact with the Biden campaign said he didn’t know what plan Biden aides had in place to defeat former President Trump, if any.

“It’s unclear to many of us watching from the outside whether the president and his core team recognize how serious the situation is and whether they have a plan to resolve it,” the strategist said. He told Axios“That sounds scary.”

Some advisers have felt pressured not to speak up in meetings, especially when some of Biden’s most trusted and longest-serving aides are present.

“Even those closer to the center are afraid to be skeptical or question the current policy for fear of being seen as disloyal,” the anonymous official told the media.

“There’s no argument that a change of course is necessary,” the same anonymous official told Axios.

Some Biden campaign advisers disputed assertions by officials and Democratic strategists that they have doubts about Biden’s plans for November.

“These people have clearly not heard detailed reasons for the president’s reelection from Mike or anyone on his team,” the advisers told Axios.

As the 2024 campaign progresses, Biden’s approval ratings are declining among several demographic groups.

The network’s tally of polls shows that President Biden’s support is declining among Black voters, falling from 86% in 2020 to 70% in 2024. Meanwhile, the polls show that Trump is chipping away at Biden’s base, tripling his support among Black voters over the past four years, from 7% in 2020 to 21% in 2024.

Asked for comment, the Biden campaign referred Fox News Digital to a statement it provided to Axios.
