Top House Republican threatens to expose CCP officials if China invades Taiwan

First on FOX: China's deterrence is a top priority in Congress for the fourth Republican in the House.

Michigan Rep. Lisa McClain, chairman of the GOP conference, has filed a law that will make the assets of the highest CCP staff available and prohibit the use of the US banking system if China chooses to infiltrate Taiwan.

Her bill requires the Treasury Secretary to unlock details about illegal assets held by Chinese officials, “expose all players” and show where their money is generally coming from.

For decades, the United States has been operating under a deliberately ambiguous “one China” policy that supports Taiwan with military aid, but has refused to say whether the US will protect Taiwan if China invades.

“This is a deterrent. The US cannot risk Taiwan's invasion that disrupts our critical supply chain,” McClain, a member of the Financial Services Commission, told Fox News Digital. “We need to maintain the pressure. We need to remember that China is not our friend.”

McLain's laws have fallen as President Donald Trump announced an additional 10% on tariffs intended to invest in Chinese goods. Canada and Mexico face an additional 10% on tariffs.

Last month, the president imposed a minimum tariff of 10% on Chinese imports. He had also proposed 25% tariffs for Mexico and Canada, but they were delayed amid promises that both countries would do more to strengthen border enforcement. But Trump said Thursday that the nation has yet to do enough to fight drug trafficking.

“Drugs are still poured into our country from Mexico and Canada at very high and unacceptable levels. The majority of these drugs are made and supplied by China in the form of fentanyl,” Trump said.

Meanwhile, China has warned the US that “no winner” in the trade war, claiming it is actively targeting fentanyl in favor of the US.

“Because of kindness and sympathy for our people and our responsibility as a big nation, fentanyl is not an issue in China, but China supports many people, materials and financial resources to deal with the fentanyl crisis.

China has been sneaking into Taiwan's seas more and more with threatening displays of force.

Taiwan dispatched the Navy, Army and Air Force on Wednesday after China launched its implementation zone, just 40 miles away from the coast.

As part of the drill, Taiwan says 32 Chinese military aircraft have been detected, working together with warships. Chinese officials have so far not acknowledged Taiwan's complaints.

And a few days ago, Wang Huning, the fourth-ranked leader of CCP, called for a bigger “unification” effort. China has long argued that Taiwan is a rebel force belonging to Beijing.
