A leading Ohio newspaper published a letter to the editor blaming former President Trump for the assassination attempts against him, saying “many of these attacks were of Mr. Trump's own making.”
The Enquirer newspaper in Cincinnati, part of Gannett's USA Today Network of Newspapers, published the letter written by a woman from suburban Sharonville.
“There is no place for violence in politics, but former President Donald Trump brought much of this on himself,” the Sharonville resident said. She wrote in a letterWhen he continues to lie about legal immigration in places like Springfield, Ohio, loser When he continues to say in the 2020 election that he wants to use the military to “round up” and deport non-white immigrants, he brings out his crazies, one of whom tries to shoot him.”

The woman also suggested that the cost and resources of having Secret Service stationed at Trump's properties contributed to the former president fleeing fear for his life.
“What Trump could do to reduce the chances of these crazies plotting an assassination is to stop charging the public thousands of dollars a night for Secret Service guards to stay at Trump-owned properties (each guard should also have their own room), as NPR and other outlets have reported,” the woman said. “That extra money could be used to assign more Secret Service agents to his security. Otherwise, why should the American people continue to pay millions of dollars extra for security that is needed simply because someone is plotting to assassinate the president?” former Can't the president stop lying and creating these problems for himself?”

The Enquirer isn't the only outlet to suggest that Trump is not blameless in the assassination attempt. On Sunday, NBC's Lester Holt similarly appeared to link the thwarted plot at Trump's golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, to his “increasingly fiery rhetoric.”
“Today's assassination attempt comes amid escalating rhetoric on the campaign trail, as Mr. Trump and his running mate, J.D. Vance, continue to make unfounded claims about Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, and there was a new bomb threat in that town this weekend,” Holt told viewers.
