Titan Travel, a UK-based travel company, conducted a study to find the most popular and featured cities, countries and landmarks.

Travel experts have created a 2024 social media index that looks at the most posted places on Instagram and TikTok, as well as Google searches.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has been crowned the most popular city on TikTok, with 30.2 million posts and the most searches on Google.
According to the report, the United States topped the list as the most searched country with 1.12 million Google searches over the past three years.
“Whether you're looking to see iconic landmarks like the Empire State Building or the Golden Gate Bridge, or you're a movie buff looking to walk the Walk of Fame, there's plenty to explore in the United States,” Titan Travel wrote.

Japan took the top spot for the most social media posts by people on vacation.
“From Mount Fuji dominating Shizuoka's skyline to the beautiful sacred cherry blossom trees, Japan is full of natural beauty,” Travel Titan experts said in their report.

Titan Travel also combined data from Instagram posts, TikTok posts, Google searches, and search growth over the past three years to reveal the five most popular urban destinations.
Each city was then given a Social Travel Score out of 10.
“We also used the 2023 Social Travel Index, collected on May 4, 2023, to calculate the growth rate of Instagram posts for cities and countries and their changes in rankings since then.” Travel report states.

3. Paris, France
According to the report, the third most popular city for social media posts was Paris, France, and the second most popular landmark was the Eiffel Tower. (St. Petersburg)

5. Istanbul, Türkiye
