‘Tough to Define’ ‘Price Gouging’ She Wants to Ban

On Wednesday's “NewsNation Now” broadcast, Lindy Lee, a representative for Harris Waltz and a member of the National Finance Committee, acknowledged that it's hard to actually define the “price gouging” that Vice President and 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris wants to ban.

“I think you remember four years ago, you couldn't get toilet paper. So by almost every measure, we're certainly better off than we were four years ago. But I want people to understand that inflation is a supply chain disruption that has affected every country on earth. There are factors that are totally outside the control of the Biden-Harris Administration. So she's done everything she can to bring prices down. She's also going after greedflation, calling out price gougers and scammers who are using inflation as an excuse to engage in practices like shrinkflation, offering customers lower prices than they had before,” Lee said.

Then host Connell McShane interjected: “Yeah, I know, some of it's hard to define. But, yeah, particularly the price gouging part, it's very hard to define. Don't you agree?”

Li responded: “It's hard to define, but… [Kroger] They alluded to the fact that they were raising prices faster than inflation.”

McShane then interjected to ask about the child tax credit.
