Important Events
Friday was a dark day for GruppettoCab was successful, but Arnaud Démare was not so lucky.
Arnaud Démare, Horses-Délai: "I’m not a fan of the genre. Depuy La Bonnet enjoys all genres without abandoning any of them. He is passionate about his music. After two days, he can still keep his passion." #TDF2024 pic.twitter.com/kW9qxb2jxb

An important point made by Breakaway King here. Is a pog a pig?
Why is it that when a climber wins four races he is called greedy, but when a sprinter wins four races he is not called greedy?

Oh, and check out Nice too, it’s really… well, lovely.
Jeremy Whittle’s report at the end of Stage 19.
William Fotheringham’s Verdict
It’s shorter than the previous day, but the vertical distance of the climb is still longer. By now, most of the questions should be answered: can Pogačar maintain his Giro-winning form? Can Evenepoel show his climbing legs in his first Tour? Have Roglic and Vingegaard recovered from their horrific crash in April? Is Egan Bernal back to his old form? Like Friday, this day is special for the GC favourites as it is the final weekend of the Tour.

preamble
Celebrated the knock Tadej Pogačar, who won stage 19 with a surprising run up the final climb, said he was looking forward to watching the breakaway go this final Saturday. He needs to rest his legs for the time trial in Nice on Sunday. Can we believe him? Given Jonas Wingegaard’s condition at the finish on Friday, he may not be able to race again. The dethroned champion could not hold back the tears after congratulating Remco Evenepoel for keeping him honest. So this may be the win many riders have been waiting for.
Be sure to check out the action on this extremely hilly stage.
