Remco Evenepoel is the reigning world time trialling champion and will fancy his chances of catching up with leader Tadej Pogacar who is 45 seconds ahead of him. “I think the favourite is Remco, for sure,” Pogacar said after stage six. “He’s the world champion and he’s shown many times that he can beat everyone. I think he’s the one to look to, but I think I can also do a pretty solid time trial.”

preamble
Welcome to the first ever Time Trial of the Tour de France. This year there will only be a total of 59km of time trial, so today’s 25.3km will be significant. By the time everyone is done, there will likely be a few shifts at the top, so there’s plenty to keep an eye on.
Remco Evenepoel is the current world time trial champion and believes he has a chance to catch Tadej Pogacar, who is 45 seconds behind in the lead. “Remco is definitely the favorite to win,” Pogacar said after Stage 6. “He’s the world champion and he’s proven time and time again that he can beat anyone. I think he’s the guy to rely on, but I think I can do a pretty good time trial as well.”
It should be an interesting day for everyone.
